Maker
: This lovely bone china coffee set is by the legendary English maker Spode. And it reflects that company's high quality: the paint work is excellent and the craftsmanship is of a very high standard.
Composition
: The set consists of a 5-cup coffee pot, a creamer and a covered sugar bowl.
Design
:
Trimmed in mustard yellow, the Rockingham pattern features
vibrant displays of fruits and flowers. Delightful finely painted butterflies and insects are scattered across each piece.
Age
: Rockingham was produced between
1950 and 1985.
The modern red Spode mark appears
on the reverse of both pieces, dating their
production to the later part of that range. The coffee pot has an earlier green mark.
The pattern number Y5194 also appears.
Condition
: The set is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, marks, stains, repairs or wear.
Size
: The coffee pot is 9 inches long between the tip of the spout and the far end of the handle, 3 7/8 inches wide at the opening and 6 1/2 inches tall including the lid. It weighs 1 pound 14 ounces.
The creamer is 5 1/4 inches long
between the tip of the spout and the far end of the handle and 4 1/2 inches tall at the top of the handle. It weighs 7.5 ounces.
The sugar bowl is 6 inches long
between the far ends of the handles and 3 5/8 inches tall without the lid. It weighs 12.1 ounces.
The set weighs 3 pounds 2 ounces.
