    Description

Wallis Gimson & Co THE WORLD Bowl. The cartouches have "Room in which Shakespeare was born" and "Anne Hathaway's Cottage". This round Victorian Aesthetic movement style bowl measures 9" across. Condition is fair +. Has a few flea bites on the edge and two scratches in the transfer pattern. Several places in which the transfer pattern did not line up correctly (a factory flaw that can be seen in other examples of this pattern). The Wallis Gimson & Co factory closed in 1890. This is a rather rare example of the decorated English pottery they produced.
