our bid is for {1 } PAIR OF NEW direct replacement for many OEM models of Vitamix  blenders Models.
If you have an original Vitamix
Blade Assembly, with the bottom portion that looks like the
picture below. Your on the right track, secondly, you need to measure the shaft. Be
precise, as we have found over the years. Earlier models take one size, while later Vita
Mix blade assemblies models, take a different size.

At times the blender is working harder, to keep up with bearings that are going bad. One was to test is to put something safe in the pitcher, with the power "OFF" and see how the blade assembly spins. Another way is too look under the pitcher to see if there is rust underneath/bottom.
If it appear rusty,  or try turning the bottom portion by hand.
Keep yourself safe, but if your blade assembly seems to be spinning slowly, sluggish or hardly moves at all this is the biggest problem you have, that being the bearing needs replacing and with some sealant "not Included" you should be able to fix your original blade assembly.
