    DESCRIPTION:
I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U.S.  NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OFFERED.
I'm offering today a gorgeous Ideal Thumbelina doll.  She is vinyl with her original soft body.  Her body is in good condition to be 60 years old, so I did not restore it.  I normally do restore these old Thumbelina dolls, but I felt this one was passable and will last someone for many years to come.  I washed her head, hands and legs with alcohol to disinfect her prior to dressing her.
I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has auburn hair which is cut into a short baby cut which frames that adorable face.  I washed and styled her hair prior to listing her.  She is wearing a custom made bonnet which I created from one of my vintage bonnets in my collection.  It was designed to match her beautiful long flowing christening gown.  As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has beautiful hand painted blue eyes which are squished up like a newborn baby.  Oh so sweet and precious!  She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. Her lips are painted pastel pink with a little bit of her tongue peeking from within. Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful pink coloring.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "Ideal Toy Corp., OTT-19".  She is the larger Thumbelina's which measures around 19" to 20" long.  Her head, arms and legs are vinyl with her body being that of cloth.
As most of you who follow me know, I pick their outfits based upon the way their faces look and what they speak to my heart.  With this precious face and her large size, she needed to be in a christening gown.  The christening gown I chose is a designer gown which as always, I pay way too much money for my doll clothes.  The top layer of the gown is sheer white netting with delicate embroidered white flowers covering the entire surface of the netting.  The bodice is high waist with adorable framed Cinderella sleeves with lots of fluffiness.  As you go around to the back side of the gown, there are three pearl buttons which I only closed two of them so the wooden knob could be turned.  There is a white satin bow which I gently tied around the knob which has long flowing streamers going down the back of the long gown.  As you come back around to the front bodice of the gown, you will see pink satin ribbon which I made a large bow and sewed to the front of the gown.  I also made a beautiful satin rosette to frame the front center of the bodice.  The skirt on the gown is gathered very tightly which gives it lots of fullness.  The christening gown measures approximately 24" long and is trimmed off with scalloped embroidery.  It is such a precious christening gown.  The underside of the gown is lined with white satin fabric which allows all of the beautiful embroidered flowers to shine through.  Under the lining, is another layer of white satin fabric with gathered tulle net ruffles for additional fullness.  Underneath the many layers of the christening gown, she is wearing white eyelet bloomers with ruffles at the hem of each leg.  She is wearing custom made white knitted booties with pink satin carnations to pick up on the pink accents on the gown.  Thumbelina will be coming to her new home with her very own pink bunny rabbit.  The bunny rabbit has pellets in it which allows it to snuggle against her body or arms.  Oh so sweet!
My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
    SIZE:
This is the larger size Thumbelina measuring approximately 20" tall. Her pink bunny rabbit measures approximately 8" tall.
    CONDITION:
She is vintage, but her body is original and in the same condition as she was when I received her many years ago.  Since she was in such good condition, I decided not to restore the body, but leave it as it is.  It has the original wooden knob, which when you wind it, her head moves very slowly like a little baby.  There are a few small spots on the body and a teeny tiny dot on the underside of one of her arms.  Of course, she must be naked to see it.  The designer christening gown was purchased for this doll and is new and has not been worn by another doll.  Her hat was custom designed by me which I copied from a vintage bonnet in my collection.  Her booties were made by a dear friend who creates beautiful booties for me.  They have never been worn by another doll.  We are an older couple and are Covid free.  We have been home bound since March 2020 and remain away from others.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
