    Description

Striking Staffordshire English pottery plate made in 1930 by Hancocks. The Hancock and Sons firm made a range of good quality decorative hand painted and designer art deco wares at the Corona Pottery works in Hanley from 1923 until 1937. The plate measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The colors are fresh--shades of spring green and tangerine with yellow and with a black border. I like the veining on the wings. There is crazing on both the front and back except in the "pebbled" background on the front. It is in good condition overall but shows light wear. The tangerine colored paint is shallowly missing from the rim in 2 small places. (The enamel paint is missing but the pottery is not chipped.) It is possibly also worn away along some of the high points of body. Please see the last photos to note the rim wear and the light spots along the body.
Shipping is calculated by your location. I don't know why the cost is given in the description. I usually offer a flat rate, but since the USPS rates are going up this week, I have chosen to offer calculated shipping. Message me with your zip if there is some confusion and I will give you the shipping fee.
