Description:
A beautiful pottery or porcelain watering can or sprinkler. The piece which is made of a fine pottery has a circular flat retracted base with scalloped footing rising with inwards curved side walls to a plain scalloped rim. Watering can has an applied shaped handle and a sprinkling spout with a shower head having five holes. The piece is colored in blue shades starting at the deep cobalt blue coloring and going to light blue. It is further decorated with a transfer depicting a colorful rococo style courting scene on the sides of the can within a circular frame. The scalloped rim has gold gilt on the edge as well as the handle which has gilt highlights. The piece is glazed on the inside and has an off-white shade of coloring with light blue edges. Measures 4 1/4" in diameter at the base, 4" in diameter at the top, 4 1/2" high, and 8 1/4" at its widest including the spout and the handle. The piece weighs a bit over 1 pound.

Condition:
The sprinkler is in excellent condition. It has no breaks, chips, or repairs. The piece has crazing to the glaze and some defects in the coloring as well as the surface of the pottery, which a\re original to the piece and can be seen in the photos (see second and seventh photo on top of the rococo scene).
