Ceramic ‘Cottage Ware’ Biscuit Jar by Price and Kensington Potteries, Ltd.

Made in England, this charming ceramic biscuit/cracker or cookie jar is a product of Price and Kensington Potteries, Ltd. This box-shaped ‘Cottage Ware’ jar measures approximately 6 ½” in length by 5 ¼” in width and 7” in height (incl. lid) and features a charming hand-painted old English cottage with windows, doors and green ivy.  The lid features a realistic-looking thatched roof and chimney.  What makes this delightful ceramic piece stand out even more is the natural cane handle with bright blue plastic woven into it.  The green Price Kensington stamp is marked on the base which indicates this piece was made in the 1960's.   The following wording, “Ye Olde Cottage – Made in England” is also incised into the base.  Despite overall crazing this ceramic piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, discolorations or any other flaws.  This is an attractive piece of Cottage Ware that is functional yet pretty enough to be put on display or added to a collection.
