Photos 1-4 show the four side views (as I turned it). They also show the wonderful floral pattern of the jar. I've taken many close-up photos of the problem areas: There are several factory defects: Photo 5 shows the raised tiny particles in the bottom. Photos 1 & 7 show a 3/4" spot on the side, photo 8 shows a 1" long area on the side where the glaze didn't take. There are also some other minor factory defects not shown in close-ups BE SURE AND INSPECT EVERY PHOTO USING EBAY'S GREAT ZOOM FEATURE! There are 3 or 4, 1" to 3" long tight hairline cracks spaced around the fluted rim - photos 9, 10 &11 show most of these. The china thickens as you go toward the bottom so the cracks stop. In addition there are several factory areas on the top rim that didn't take the glaze so the the raw clay is exposed.

    Description

    I'm Selling a Rare,
    Antique "Flow Blue"
    Floral Pattern Phoenix Earthenware
    "Jardiniere".
    The piece was
made in Longton, Staffordshire, England in about 1912+- by Thomas Forester & Sons (marked on the bottom - TF & Sons).  Please excuse the round white glare spots on my photos -
they are from my lights and aren't there!
Description:  The Jardiniere is a rare example of what the term Flow Blue is all about.  I've collected special Flow Blue pieces for about 45-years and believe me when I say this piece is special.  In addition to the extraordinary flowing blue colors, the Jardiniere has a solid dark blue crimped top with gold trim.  There are also smaller speckled areas of gold and highlights of gold on some of the leaves.  Yes, there are defects, but then avid collectors of this ware expect and even want them because it shows that they are old and add character to the pieces.
Beware of the all the newer reproduction pieces on the market!!
The Jardiniere measures about 9" Tall, is 10" across the top, 6" across the bottom with a maximum diameter of 11".
    Note:
Even if you read the condition box above, PLEASE go back and read the information again and use eBay's zoom feature to examine my photos
As much as I hate to, I am starting to part with my collection and I'm starting with some of my best  pieces.  I'm getting on in age and will soon have to move from my large Victorian home to a managed apartment.
History:  This piece was purchased about 25-years ago at a private (invitation Only) Estate Sale in Eau Claire, Wisconsin - back then, there were many avid collectors of Victorian Glass & China and they made me pay a lot of money for the piece
(at the price I'm asking, I will barely break even)!
Nearly all of the old estates are gone and It's is rare today to find one to go to.
    Terms of Sale & Policies:
I don't send invoices, so please pay (via PayPal) when you receive eBay's "Confirmation of Purchase" invoice (which you will receive immediately after you've purchased an item.)
Payment must be made WITHIN 3-DAYS of the purchase via PayPal.
I don't pack my Items until they sell, so until I get the item packed, there's no way I can quote a definite shipping charge (especially on sets/partial sets of china. The amount shown on my listing
    "Is an Estimate Only"
(for the mid zone's - from Wisconsin).  If you live on the East or West Coast, Florida, Washington State, California, Alaska or Hawaii, it will cost more!
Postal rates are increasing continuously, You will pay what the Post Office charges me, plus a moderate packing charge (packing materials are expensive, especially when I'm packing a set of china. I ship via the USPS (Priority Mail) only. Gone are the days when Parcel Post used to be cheaper, it now costs about .00 less and it takes 5-9 days (by truck) where it gets very rough handling!!
Order with confidence, I pack VERY SECURELY and I've never had an item or set damaged in shipping (Read my feedback for comments on packing)!
