    Description

This is a real beauty. No markings anywhere. The large double down turned quillons & incomplete knuckle bow are very, 16th century. It most closely resembles the "Badelaire" sword, commonly used as a naval sword during the 16th C.  And the Italian "Storta" sword, 16th-17th C.
Tall, rectangular inverted urn pommel. Leather wrapped wooden grip. Incomplete knuckle bow & heavy cross guard extending into double down turned quillons. Upturned full clam shell hand guard with tail on reverse side curled up into a thumb ring. All parts are very tight. The blade is like a late medieval arming sword, crossed with an Italian cinquedea broadsword. 6 fullers in 3 sections. 2 sets of indentations. It is quite unique. 12 pictures just isn't enough. Blades condition is pretty much identical on both sides. Excellent.
    Overall 38 1/4". Blade 31 1/2" long X 2 3/8" wide. Cross guard 6". 3 Lbs. 4.6 oz.
