The Tale of Ginger and Pickles is a children's book by Beatrix Potter, first published in 1909. The book tells of two shopkeepers who extend unlimited credit to their customers and, as a result, are forced to go out of business.
This is an excellent Pickles dog figurine made by Beswick England.  Pickles holds his ledger and is dressed in waist coat and apron.  The figurine is from the Beswick England BP3b period which produced between 1971 and 1985.  This figurine is copyrighted 1971.  It is approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and in excellent condition with no cracks and no chips.  There is no apparent crazing.
